Open Day Raises Over £900 for Fire Fighters Charity

Market Harborough Fire Station has thanked the community after hundreds of people turned out to support its open day on Saturday.

Visitors enjoyed a packed programme of live demonstrations, family activities and a teddy bear zip line, with firefighters saying they were “absolutely blown away” by the response.

The event also raised £930 for The Fire Fighters Charity, which supports serving and retired firefighters and their families.

In a message shared after the event, the station said: “We were absolutely blown away and completely overwhelmed by the incredible turnout to our open day.

“Thank you to every single person who helped make the day so special – and for all the brave teddies who trusted us on the zip line!

“Because of your kindness and generosity, we raised an incredible £930 for The Fire Fighters Charity.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for your support.”
