The organiser of Truck Pull charity events in Market Harborough and Medbourne has gone on trial accused of fraud.
Leicester Crown Court’s heard Gary Gardner held the first in Medbourne in 2013 and then in Market Harborough the following two years, in aid of the trust fund set-up for the son of murdered soldier Lee Rigby, although no money was ever given to the family.
It’s alleged at least £24,000 was raised from the events, with only £4,000 making its way to any charity.
56-year-old Gardner, of Old Holt Road, Medbourne, denies three counts of fraud.
The trial continues.
