Objections To Parking Ban In Harborough Street

A plan to ban parking on sections of Walcot Road in Market Harborough is facing opposition.
Residents want action to stop drivers using the street to park before going into the town centre, which they say creates a road safety hazard and can prevent them easily accessing driveways.
Leicestershire County Council is proposing putting double yellow lines down, but has received a number of objections during a consultation.
A spokesperson told HFM: “The first stage of the consultation on the proposed scheme has received a number of responses, including objections.
“These will need to be reviewed thoroughly as part of the ongoing statutory consultation process, which could take up to six months.”
