‘No Further Action’ After Developer Issued Warning

A housing developer has put additional measures in place to stop construction traffic going through Great Bowden.

It follows complaints from villagers, which led to a warning being issued to Barwood Homes, who are building on the edge of the village.

Lorries delivering to the site on Leicester Lane are banned from entering the village under an approved traffic management plan.

Harborough District Council had told the company it would face sanctions if it did not remedy the situation.

A Council spokesperson told HFM: “No further action has been required; Barwood put in place a number of additional measures to assist with the routing of construction traffic and the timings of deliveries, and the Council will continue to monitor the situation.”
