New Trees Planted After Vandal Attack
Written by HFM News on 13th April 2021
New trees have been planted at Little Bowden Recreation Ground, to replace those wrecked by vandals last month.
The seven new saplings were donated to Harborough Council’s contractor, FCC Environment, by Coles Nurseries in Thurnby.
The previous trees were snapped in half just a couple of weeks after being planted.
Vince Edwards from Coles told Hfm they were happy to help after hearing about what happened.
FCC is thanking Coles for donating the trees – Contract Manager John Whitup said: “Having planted all of the trees originally it was frustrating and upsetting to see what a group of vandals did to the saplings.
“Thanks to the generosity of a local business and the efforts of the FCC team, we were able to plant new saplings and hopefully they will grow and thrive, bringing joy to users of the park for years to come.”
