New Cancer Support Centre To Benefit Harborough Residents

People from the Market Harborough area are to benefit from a new Cancer Support Centre.
It’s to be built at Kettering General Hospital in a joint project with Macmillan Cancer Support and offer a range of support for people living with the disease and their carers.
How the centre will look
It will be the first facility of its kind in north Northamptonshire and be similar to that located at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Rachel Atkinson, Macmillan Partnership Manager for Northamptonshire, said: “Cancer can affect every part of your life, not just your health, so it’s vital that we try and support patients with non-clinical needs as well.
“This brilliant new centre will offer a comfortable space where our high-trained support staff and volunteers can offer people with cancer support for a variety of different needs that come with a cancer diagnosis. We want to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can so whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.”
Around 4600 people in Northamptonshire and Leicestershire are living with cancer.
