Mystery As River Turns Bright Green

Mystery surrounds who was responsible for turning the River Jordan through Little Bowden a bright green colour.
It is believed a harmless dye was put into the watercourse on Friday, although it is unclear by whom.

The river turned a bright green colour
Residents were initially alarmed when they noticed the colour of the water, fearing it was related to a pollution spillage.
However, the Environment Agency say there is no need for concern as the river returned to its usual colour the following day and there have been no further reports.
Dye is released into rivers during sewer and drainage investigations, although neither the Environment Agency or Anglian Water – which is responsible for drainage in the area – were carrying out any such work.
