Meanwhile, pre-school children have returned to Farndon Fields Primary School in Market Harborough today, after it’s Early Years Foundation Stage youngsters went back last Thursday.
Year One and Year Six children are due to return from Wednesday.
The school, which is taking a phased approach to children going back, has produced child friendly videos for parents to help them prepare their children for a return – these have included the drop off and pick up arrangements, exciting things they are coming back to, and how classrooms have been prepared, so children know what to expect.
Headteacher Nikki Matthew said: “I want to thank all of our parents for the kind messages and support we have received during this difficult time. The staff have been overwhelmed with the gratitude and empathy parents have shown. We feel truly honoured to be working for such a wonderful local community.”
