‘Miracle No-One Was Killed’ After Truck Crashes Into House

Harborough’s MP says ‘all possible measures’ must be put in place to ensure there is no repeat of what happened in Fleckney yesterday.

A tipper truck crashed into a house opposite the entrance to a new homes site on Leicester Road, causing serious damage and leaving a gaping hole in the front of it.

Just moments before, Alison Nicol, who lives at the property with partner Chris Yorston, had been sitting at a table where the vehicle ended up.

Neil O’Brien told Hfm he contacted the construction company who own the building site and local councils, after describing the incident as ‘very concerning’ :

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Colonial Construction, who own the new homes site, have launched a full investigation into what happened.

The Health & Safety Executive says it is making enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident, to determine whether it falls within its remit to investigate.
