A 10-year-old from Market Harborough is making a splash for a good cause by taking on a swimming challenge to raise money for local food banks.
Millie Atkins has set herself the target of swimming 500 lengths in five weeks.
With two weeks still to go, she has 222 lengths left to complete and is determined to reach her goal.

So far, Millie, a pupil at Market Harborough C of E Academy, has raised £160 towards her £250 target.
She is taking on the challenge as part of her Year 6 project, titled “A Meal That Matters.”
Millie said the project made her reflect on how fortunate she is. “I have really thought about what this means, and it made me think about how lucky I am to always have food to eat. Not everyone has that, and I don’t think that’s fair,” she said.
She added: “I don’t want anyone going to bed hungry or feeling worried about if they’ll have a meal the next day. Food banks do an amazing job helping people in our community, so I wanted to do something active to support them.”
By swimming as many lengths as she can and asking for donations, Millie hopes to make a difference for families across the area.
