Meeting Held After Recent Crime-Spree In Market Harborough

More CCTV could be installed in Market Harborough in a bid to help Police tackle crime.
The move was discussed during a meeting this week, prompted by the crime-spree earlier this month that saw a number of business premises targeted by thieves.
Liberal Democrat Councillors on Harborough Council met with the Police Area commander, Insp Gavin Drummond.
The idea to expand the current surveillance system, to cover more parts of the town, including Welland Park, was backed and will now be discussed at the Council.
Following the meeting, calls are being made for Harborough Conservative MP Neil O’Brien to lobby government for more funding for Leicestershire Police, which has lost 500 officers since 2009, as a result of budget cuts.
