Massive Funding Boost For Our Hospitals

Health campaigners and politicians have welcomed the Government’s announcement to inject £450m into a massive hospital revamp in Leicester.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Leicester’s Hospitals’ long-standing plans for a new maternity hospital and a dedicated children’s hospital at Leicester Royal Infirmary and two ‘super’ intensive care units would be fully funded.

This will give them 100 more beds, almost double the number currently available for patients.

The government has also announced Kettering General Hospital is one of 21 hospital trusts that will share £100m to develop plans for new buildings and expansions.
