Market Harborough School Proposes Changing Catchment Area

A Market Harborough school is hoping to change its catchment area to accommodate children moving into a new housing estate on the edge of town.

Meadowdale Primary School wants to be able to take-in youngsters from the Overstone Park development off Kettering Road, until a proposed new primary school is built there.

Currently the estate falls into the catchment area for Little Bowden Primary, but Meadowdale is closer and says it has space available, without impacting on the availability of places within its current area.

With hundreds of homes to be built on the estate, school leaders say the change would allow parents the choice of two schools and a consultation on the proposal has been launched.
