A man accused of starting a fire at a flat in Market Harborough and assaulting emergency workers following his arrest has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Andrew Parkhouse appeared at Leicester Crown Court today, following the blaze in the kitchen of the property in Ireton Road on June 25th.
He denied charges of arson and assaulting three Police officers and a nurse at Leicester Royal Infirmary, after being taken there to be treated for the effects of inhaling smoke.
Parkhouse, 53, of Fawdon Place, West Chirton, North Shields, was remanded back into custody ahead of a trial which is due to take place in February.
The fire caused damage to the kitchen and smoke damage throughout the flat.
No-one else was injured.
