Man & Boy Injured In Serious Crash On A47

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man and ten-year-old boy were injured in a serious crash on the A47 in the Harborough District yesterday.
It happened on Uppingham Road in Skeffington just before 1.30pm, when a grey VW Tiguan left the road.
Officers say the man, aged in his 40s, and the boy are continuing to receive treatment in hospital and their injuries and not believed to be life-threatening.

A woman aged in her 40s suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene.
Detective Constable Paul Hicks, from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “Our enquiries to establish the circumstances that led to the car leaving the road are continuing.
“While we’ve spoken to a number of people who stopped at the scene, I am appealing for anyone who saw the car beforehand or who saw the collision occur to get in touch.
“I’m particularly keen to speak to any motorists with a dashcam who may be able to help.
“Anything you’re able to provide or tell us could assist our investigation.”

The road was closed for several hours following the incident while Police collision investigation work took place.
