Man Admits Endangering Lives By Starting Fires

A man has today admitted endangering the lives of a family, as well as residents and staff at a care home in Husbands Bosworth.

Daniel Milburn started three fires within the space of two hours late on August 29^th and early on August 30th.

The most serious blaze was in Mowsley Court, where the 33-year-old set a wheelie bin alight with the fire spreading to two cars and one of the flats.

The occupants – including 2 young children – got out after being woken by a smoke alarm.

Earlier he’d set fire to a bin outside the Brook House Care Home on Bell Lane, although fire crews prevented it from spreading, and a van on Church Street.

Milburn – of no fixed abode – will be sentenced next month.
