Loud Pile-Driving Nearly Complete

Loud pile driving being used to lay concrete foundations of a new retirement complex in Market Harborough should be complete early next week.
Some people have described the noise generated as sounding like an air-raid siren.
It’s being used on the old Travis Perkins site on Clarence Street, ahead of a two to three-storey building going up to accommodate 44 sheltered-housing apartments.
Churchill Retirement Living is spending £10m on the development, which is set to be completed by early 2020.
