Local Food Producers Shine Thanks To Eco Village
Written by HFM News on 2nd October 2020
The Coronavirus pandemic has shone a light on the value of small local food producers after they were able to find a new home in Market Harborough.
The Eco-Village on St Mary’s Road is a base for a range of micro-businesses, who all have ‘sustainability’ at heart.
Run as a not for profit organisation, it opened its doors just six weeks before the lockdown in March, as an alternative to supermarkets.
Bosses were quickly able to limit the amount of certain products people could buy, to ensure they didn’t run-out, like in other stores, and maintained supplies thanks to working with local producers.
The Eco Village has now started renting out a room on the first floor to community groups.
