Large Blade Among Rubbish Dumped Behind Homes

A large blade was among a pile of rubbish dumped outside garages on Market Harborough’s Southern Estate.
It is thought the items fly-tipped in the area off Maurice Road have come from a recent house clearance.
A concerned resident removed the blade, for a tree pruner, amid fears a child could pick it up and cause serious injury to themselves or others.

Harborough District Council’s Enviro-crime team has launched an investigation to try and find out where the rubbish came from and who was responsible for dumping it.
A spokesman told Hfm: “As this fly-tip is on private property, the Council is unable to remove it. However, we are working to trace the landowner.
“Anyone caught fly-tipping can be fined £400, or more. Even if you pay someone else to dispose of your rubbish it is your legal responsibility to make sure they will dispose of it correctly.”
