Key Route To Shut To Traffic For Five Days

Written by on 13th November 2020

One the main routes in and out of Market Harborough is to close to traffic for five days later this month.

Kettering Road will be shut either side of the railway bridge in Little Bowden from Monday November 23rd.

It is so work to improve cycleway facilities can take place – part of a scheme being paid for by the government’s ‘Emergency Active Travel Fund’ – set up to encourage more people to cycle during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The first stage of work was carried out in September, when traffic lights were installed at the railway bridge.

Leicestershire County Council has apologised in advance for any inconvenience the closure will cause.

It says the proposed alternative diversion route will be via Gorse Lane, Rockingham Road, St Mary’s Road, Kettering Road and vice versa or via Bellfields Lane, Scotland Road, Rectory Lane and vice versa.
