Inspector To Hold Hearing Over Great Bowden Homes Plan
Written by HFM News on 16th April 2021
A Government Planning Inspector will hold a hearing next week as they consider whether a new housing estate can be built in Great Bowden.
Developers appealed against Harborough District Council’s decision to refuse permission for 33 houses on the Bowden Fencing site off Leicester Lane.
The plan was thrown out last June, because it went against the Great Bowden Neighbourhood Plan and would result in the loss of employment opportunities.
Planning permission had been initially granted earlier that month, although the Planning Committee meeting was later declared nul-and-void, after a technical failure barred the public from viewing the webcast.
All decisions taken were quashed, and the meeting re-held.
The Inspector will hear evidence from house-builder Barwood Homes, the Council and objectors before making a decision.
