Market Harborough Diver Crowned Double National Champion

A talented young diver from Market Harborough is celebrating after winning two national titles at the 2026 Swim England National Age Group Diving Championships.

Eleven-year-old Sebastian Karanjit, a pupil at St Joseph’s Catholic Academy, enjoyed an outstanding weekend at the championships, held at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Smethwick.

Sebastian was crowned National Champion in the 3m Springboard and Synchronised Diving

Sebastian was crowned National Champion in the 3m Springboard and Synchronised Diving, as well as winning a silver medal in the Platform event.

The championships brought together the best young divers from across England, with competitors battling for national titles and podium places.

Sebastian’s achievements earned him three national medals in total – two golds and one silver – capping a memorable weekend against some of the country’s top age-group divers.

His family paid tribute to his “hard work, determination and resilience”, while also thanking his coaches, teammates and everyone at Sheffield Diving who has supported his development.
