Harborough Records Lowest Covid-19 Cases For Six Months

Cases of coronavirus in the Harborough District have dropped to the lowest level for six months.

Public Health England figures show 37 new cases were reported in the seven days to yesterday – 23 fewer than the previous week – and the lowest number since September.

Three new positive tests were recorded yesterday, which is again the lowest number of daily positive tests in six months.

The the infection rate per 100,000 people now stands at 49 – just below the national average.

Mike Sandys, Director of Public Health for Leicestershire, told Hfm the figures and pleasing to see, but people must not be complacent, as lockdown restrictions start to ease:
