Harborough Motorist convicted

A Harborough motorist found guilty of drink-driving AND carrying an offensive weapon has been banned from our roads and fined almost £900 pounds.

Natalie Cooke, a carer from Market Harborough, was recently stopped by police for driving erratically on Roman Way in the town. Officers who breathalysed the twenty-two year old found her over the limit AND in possession of a lock knife with a ten-centimetre blade.

She’s been disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined a total of £880 for the offences by Leicester Magistrates.

It followed a week-long operation to target those carrying weapons – when officers made eighteen other arrests across Leicestershire.

 PC Paul Farrar, of Harborough Police, says the conviction sends out a clear message about carrying a knife – as “another nasty, offensive weapon is taken off our streets.”
