The project has raised more than £320,000 for local charities since the 1970s by touring the streets with Santa at Christmas.

After 30 years in service, the old vehicle has now been retired and the new electric model unveiled in front of guests and dignitaries.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has thanked Towrite for their support, saying the new Mini Fire Engine looks “fantastic.”
