Harborough Falls Silent To Remember

People have fallen silent in Market Harborough to mark Armistice Day.
A ceremony was held at the entrance to the Memorial Gardens which included a two-minute silence at 11am, the start and end of which was signaled by the firing of a maroon.

People gathered on The Square to pay their respects to the fallen, including pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic Academy.
Royal Navy veteran Tony Simms spoke to HFM after placing a wreath on the gates of the gardens, on behalf of the town’s Royal British Legion:

The event followed Remembrance Sunday when ceremonies were held in towns and villages across the HFM Region.
In Market Harborough there was a big turnout on The Square for the Act of Remembrance and silence at 11am.
The event included a parade including scouts, guides, cadet organisations and veterans.
