Swan Rescued After Bringing A14 To Standstill

Drivers and highway officers came to rescue after a young swan was found wandering along the A14.

The bird was spotted on the westbound carriageway between the Kettering and Rothwell junctions just after 10.15am today, bringing traffic to a standstill.

Two motorists stopped and were able to corner the swan before a National Highways patrol arrived at the scene.

The traffic officers were then able to get the bird into a swan handlers’ bag, which is carried in their vehicle, before transporting it to a near-by lake, where it was released unharmed.
