Great Bowden Teacher To Take-On Big Swimming Challenge

A teacher is to swap the classroom for the sea in a bid to raise £1,000 for Great Bowden Academy.

James Rose will swim six kilometres when he takes-on the Solent Swim on the south coast next month.

It will be James’s biggest open swimming challenge to date when he takes to the water with fellow members of the Welland Valley Triathlon Club.

The challenge will see Year Six teacher James swimming from Hurst Castle across the Solent to the Needles on the Isle of Wight – a journey he thinks will take around an hour.

An on-line fundraising page has been set up to collect sponsorship ahead of the challenge, in support of the school PTA’s efforts to help fund extracurricular activities, field trips and more.
