Go-Ahead For ‘Dangerous & Diseased’ Trees To Be Felled

The go-ahead has been given for nearly half the trees in part of Market Harborough town centre to be felled because they are diseased or potentially dangerous.
Planning permission was needed because a Tree Preservation Order covers part of the site, adjacent to the Market Hall car park on Northampton Road.

A survey of the 26 trees in the area, owned by Harborough District Council, revealed 12 needed to be felled.
The site, which has a mobile phone mast on, has previously been identified for a coach park and potential location for a new community garden.
