Man Dies After Collapsing Prior To Remembrance Event In Lutterworth

A man sadly died after collapsing prior to yesterday’s Remembrance event in Lutterworth.
He was taken ill in the area of the Memorial Gardens in Church Street around 10.30am and Police say despite the best efforts of emergency services he could not be saved.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “A participant in the Remembrance Day parade in Lutterworth unfortunately took ill in Church Street.
“Despite the best efforts of the emergency services and those in the local area he sadly died.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for HM Coroner.”
The planned service and ceremony was moved to the near-by St Mary’s Church following the incident.
