A giant so-called ‘Fatberg’ has been found in a sewer near Market Harborough.
Containing things like fat, oil, tampons, wet-wipes and cotton buds, Anglian Water discovered it during a routine inspection of pipes in fields behind the Riverside Industrial Estate.
Specialist machinery has been brought in to remove it and people are being urged not to put ‘unflushables’ down toilets and sinks.
Such blockages cost around £15m a year for the company to clear.
