Funeral Held for Respected Harborough Councillor David Gair

The funeral of a highly respected Harborough district councillor has taken place today.
Labour member David Gair, who represented Lutterworth East since 2023 and was also a long-serving member of Lutterworth Town Council, died last month.
Councillors were among those attending the service at South Leicestershire Crematorium in Countesthorpe.

Tributes had previously been paid following his death, with colleagues describing him as a dedicated and passionate representative of his community.
Leader of the Coalition group, Phil Knowles said Mr Gair, a former teacher, would be remembered for his commitment to the community, while Chief Executive John Richardson said he had quickly become a highly respected member of the authority.
Cllr Gair had also served as chair of the Audit and Standards Committee and sat on the Planning Committee.
Fellow councillors and town council colleagues have described him as hardworking, approachable, and widely respected across political lines.
