Flytippers Warned – ‘We Are Watching You’

Written by on 16th June 2020

More covert CCTV cameras are being installed at fly-tipping hotspots across Harborough in a bid to catch people in the act.

Footage from the hidden cameras has already helped Harborough Council prosecute a number of people over the past year, as part of its on-going ‘Tip Off’ Campaign.

There were 96 reports of illegal dumping in April and May across the District, slightly down on the same period last year – the latest incidents happened last week on the outskirts of Billesdon, where bags containing hosiery-type materials like cuts offs were dumped.

The Council’s also put warning banners on the side of some of its bin lorries, with the message ‘Beware – We Are Watching You.’
