Flood Alert For Welland Valley

A flood alert has been issued for the Welland Valley.

The Environment Agency says low-lying land, roads and paths near the River Welland around Market Harborough, and the River Jordan in Braybrooke and Little Bowden, could be affected.

Residents are being urged to take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through floodwater.

A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said: “Forecast high river levels may lead to flooding.

“Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers.

“Our forecasts indicate that flooding to properties isn’t likely and therefore flood warnings are not expected to be issued.

“We are closely monitoring the situation. ”
