Fleckney New Homes Plan Moves Forward

Written by on 15th April 2025

The plan to build 170 new homes on the edge of Fleckney has moved forward after a developer handed in a planning application.

Barratt David Wilson Homes wants to create the new estate on 11 acres of land off Leicester Road and held a public consultation with villagers last month.

Land off Leicester Road has been earmarked for the new homes

The land, adjacent to the site of the Wistow Farm Solar Park scheme, is not identified for development in Fleckney’s Neighbourhood Plan, however Harborough District Council cannot currently demonstrate a five-year housing land supply, meaning it is subject to speculative planning applications.

Documents submitted with the application state the development would include 102 market homes and 68 affordable homes.

The council will now consider the plan.
