Flats Plan For Former Kibworth Club Rejected

Plans to redevelop a former Working Men’s Club in Kibworth Beauchamp into nine flats have been rejected.
The proposal for the building on Fleckney Road was recommended for approval by Harborough District Council planning officers, but councillors went against that advice at a meeting last night.

The planning application was lodged after the club closed last year and the building was later sold at auction for £350,000.
They raised concerns about the standard of design, as well as inadequate parking and insufficient space for bins.
More than 30 objections had been lodged by villagers, with most focused on parking and highway safety.
