An investigation is underway after a fire at a large derelict property near Kelmarsh early this morning.
Eight crews were needed to tackle the blaze on Haselbech Road after the alarm was raised just after 4am.
The building was previously home to the Nagarjuna Buddhist Centre, before it relocated a few years ago and before that was a residential home for the elderly.

The roof of the property was destroyed in the fire and water jets were used to bring the flames under control and stop them spreading to other properties.
A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We remain at the scene with two fire engines, as well as the aerial appliance from Corby, and are likely to remain there for most of the day monitoring hotspots and dampening the building down.
“The road remains closed, and no casualties have been reported from the incident.”
Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
