Finishing Touches To New ‘Friendship Park’

The finishing touches are being made ahead of a new ‘friendship park’ opening in Market Harborough town centre next month.

Iron fencing has been erected around the site on Northampton Road, welcoming arches installed and benches placed within it.

The new ‘Friendship Park’ will open next month

The previously overgrown area adjacent to the Market Hall car park has been transformed over the past few months by Harborough District Council, with volunteers helping to plant thousands of bulbs and trees.

The final parts of the £30,000 project will be carried out over the next few weeks, ahead of the opening in May.

The council worked with a group of residents who overlook the park in planning the project and they will assist with ongoing maintenance in the new green space.
