Farmers Thank Public After “Amazing” Support for Tractor Convoy

Farmers say public support was “absolutely amazing” as they staged a tractor convoy through Market Harborough at the weekend.
The event, called Proud To Be A British Farmer, was organised to highlight the pressures facing the industry and the campaign for fairer returns from supermarkets.
Tractors travelled through the town centre, drawing a crowd of people who lined the street by The Square and applauded as the vehicles passed.
The convoy then continued through surrounding villages before heading towards Lutterworth.

Organisers say the aim was to raise awareness of the financial challenges many farmers are facing, as well as the need to encourage more young people into the industry.
Organiser Andy Gillespie, who farms in Thorpe Langton, described the reaction from residents as overwhelmingly positive and thanked the community for their encouragement and support:
