Early morning accident on A6

Two people have been treated for their injuries by East Midlands Ambulance Service – after an accident which closed the A6 in Market Harborough early this morning.

Emergency services were rushed to the scene at around 05.40am following a collision involving a van, two other vehicles and two horses at the A6 junction with Kettering Road at Clack Hill.

The incident caused major peak time delays in and out of town as diversions were put into place around the incident.

One of the horses has been confirmed dead – whilst the other has been handed over to the care of a vet. Police investigations are now underway.

In a separate Monday morning incident, Harborough Road at East Farndon also had to be closed due to hay bales on fire.
