Driver Runs Off From Police Wearing Orange Dressing Gown & Slippers

A driver who ran off from Police in Lutterworth didn’t get very far, as he was wearing a tangerine-coloured dressing gown and slippers.

Officers say he initially failed to stop for them and then got out of his car, climbed over a gate, and started running through a field, off De Verdon Road.

The man, aged 28, was quickly apprehended for having no valid driving licence or insurance.

Harborough Police have described the incident yesterday afternoon as ‘bizarre’ and said: “He initially made off in his car, then on foot after vaulting a gate into a field.

“Despite kicking-off his slippers for better grip he was detained shortly afterwards.”

The man has been reported for driving offences and his car was seized.
