A man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a crash in Market Harborough left a busy junction without working traffic lights.
Police were called to Springfield Street just before 2.30am on Saturday after a car driver hit a traffic island and knocked down a set of lights at the entrance to the Sainsbury’s car park.

Temporary traffic lights had to be installed
The 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while over the legal alcohol limit and later released under investigation.
The main lights had to be switched off and temporary signals put in place, which have been causing significant delays for motorists.
Repairs are expected to be carried out on Thursday.
