Arrest After Teenager Injured In Crash

A man has been arrested after a teenage boy was seriously injured in a crash in Desborough this morning.

The boy, who was riding a manual scooter, was involved in a collision with the driver of a dark blue Ford Focus on the B576 Rothwell Road shortly after 8am.

He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham by air ambulance with serious injuries.

A 38-year-old man from Kettering was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

The crash happened between the junctions of Christopher Close and Brooke Close, and Northamptonshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses.

Officers would especially like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage that may have captured the incident.

Initial information provided to HFM by Northamptonshire Police said the scooter was an e-scooter and that the collision took place in Rothwell.

Updated information confirmed the collision took place in Desborough and the boy was riding a manual scooter.
