Cottage Hospital Demolition Begins
Written by HFM News on 2nd July 2019
Work has started to demolish Market Harborough’s former Cottage Hospital.
A bulldozer has moved into the rear of the Coventry Road site to begin ripping the building down.
For the past few weeks specialist contractors have been removing asbestos from inside to prepare for the demolition.

Once the site is cleared work will begin to build a new 70-bedroom care home.
Developers say the World War One Memorial Portico that lies on the site will be fully protected during the demolition and building process, before being incorporated into the new building.

The hospital shut in 2017 when services were moved to the St Luke’s Treatment Centre on Coventry Road.
