Delays To Post Being Delivered In & Around Market Harborough

Written by on 2nd December 2021

Postal deliveries in and around Market Harborough are being delayed because of staff shortages.

Royal Mail say the problem is being caused by high levels of sickness absence at its delivery office on Riverside, together with ‘resourcing issues.’

The firm has apologised and is in the process of recruiting new staff in a bid to tackle the issues.

A Royal Mail spokesperson told Hfm: “The vast majority of mail is delivered safely and on time. We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“In the Market Harborough area, we are experiencing some delays to service due to resourcing issues and high levels of sickness absence.

“We apologise to any customers who may have experienced delays to their mail.

“We are in the process of recruiting new members of staff and are looking to restore our normal high service levels as quickly as possible.”

The company says anyone who has concerns over the delivery of their mail should contact its customer service team on 03457 740 740 or via the Royal Mail website www.royalmail.com.
