County Cricket Returns to Kibworth with One Day Cup Opener

County cricket is back in Kibworth today as Leicestershire take on Gloucestershire in the opening match of this season’s Metro Bank One Day Cup.
Play is underway at the club’s Fleckney Road ground, with around 1,000 spectators expected to attend the match.

After finishing bottom of the North Group in this year’s T20 Blast, the Foxes will be hoping for a change in fortunes as they begin their 50-over campaign.
Hosting a professional county fixture is a major occasion for Kibworth Cricket Club, with months of preparation having gone into staging the event.
It is the fourth year the club has hosted the county team and club secretary Kevin Messenger says it’s a proud day for everyone involved.
