There is concern about a lack of parking enforcement across Harborough which is being blamed on a shortage of wardens.
Harborough District Council is struggling to fill vacant posts within its civil enforcement team, which patrol car parks and on-street parking restrictions.
Cllr Phil King represents the Kibworths and is particularly concerned about the impact it is having there:

There are concerns about the number of civil enforcement officers patrolling the streets
Harborough District Council runs the civil enforcement service in Harborough and on behalf of other district and borough councils in Leicestershire, which is controlled and directed by the county council.
Cllr Darren Woodiwiss, Cabinet lead for Environmental and Climate Change, said: “Our civil enforcement team is working hard to deliver a good service in our car parks and elsewhere.
“Civil enforcement officers do a difficult job, working in all weathers and sometimes they have to deal with tricky situations.
“As a result, turnover of staff can be on the higher side and, as we’re operating in a competitive labour market, it is not always easy to fill vacancies when they arise.
“However, we are actively seeking to recruit to our vacant posts and I’d like to thank the team for the work they are doing to maintain the on and off-street enforcement service in spite of the challenges.”
A spokesperson for Leicestershire County Council said: “We manage on and off-street parking enforcement across the county in partnership with the district authorities.
“Our civil enforcement officers are required across the whole of Leicestershire, but we will continue to deploy them in Kibworth as our resources allow.”
