Plans Unveiled For Over 20 New Business Units In Market Harborough

Written by on 7th October 2026

Plans have been unveiled for 23 new business units on the edge of Market Harborough.

The development is earmarked for around three acres of land off Northampton Road and would see units of varying sizes created across five buildings.

They would be suitable for storage and distribution, as well as light industrial purposes.

A 64-space car park is also included in the proposals for land close to Compass Point Business Park, next to the town’s Enterprise Centre.

The applicant says the development would support short-term construction jobs, as well as long-term skilled employment opportunities once the site is operational.

The Market Harborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce says highway improvements will need to accompany any new development of this kind, particularly if it is to attract distribution businesses.

Dr Gareth Thomas, President of the Chamber, spoke to HFM:

Harborough District Council will consider the plans.
