Community Rallies Round To Support Football Club

Over £2,000 has been raised in a few days help Rothwell Corinthians Football Club after a deliberately-started fire badly damaged a stand.
The crowdfunding appeal was launched following Sunday’s blaze, which left the club with a repair bill totalling thousand of pounds.
The club is thanking everyone who has made a donation or helped in other ways, as the fire came days before their biggest game in ten years, as they play hosts to Abbey Hulton United in the first round proper of the FA Vase tomorrow.
Damage caused by the fire
A club spokesperson said: “We would like to express our thanks to everyone who has shared our posts, come forward with information and offered support following the fire at the.
“We have been overwhelmed by your kindness and it just goes to show what a fabulous town Rothwell and the surrounding community is.
“We are working our hardest to ensure Saturday’s game on and would love to see as many of you there as possible to support the team & the club.
Police enquiries into the fire are continuing and anyone with information is urged to come forward, if they have not done so already.
