Authorities Consider New Flood Mitigation Measures

Work could take place in a bid to reduce surface water flooding in Market Harborough during intense rainfall.
Authorities are discussing what measures could potentially be put in place following the severe flooding in the town centre and other areas last month.
Victoria Coombes, Flood Risk Manager at Leicestershire County Council, spoke to HFM at a drop-in event for residents:

The drop-in event was held at the Symington Building
The drop-in event at the Symington Building enabled people to share their recent experiences of flooding and ask questions of authorities, including councils and the Environment Agency.
Cllr Phil King, county councillor for Market Harborough West and Foxton told HFM work is going on behind the scenes to see if further measures to help alleviate flooding could be introduced:
